Nepal to bring in 1 million tourists in 2018

The government new policies and program declared 2018 as the ‘Tourism Year’ with a confidence to bring in as many as one million tourists in Nepal in the same year.

The policies and program for fiscal year 2016/017 have it that a specific strategy will be devised in view of drawing as many as tourists from the neighboring countries.

Among the programmes towards this end includes formulation and implementation of a 10-year national strategic tourism plan underscoring the development of basic infrastructures for tourism promotion.

Also, special promotional programmes will be put in place to attract bigger number of tourists from neighbouring countries.

The government plans to set up museum in each province in a bid to conserve the historical areas of the respective province. RSS
